Business Clients (Platform Users)

  • WhatsApp Business Account information

WhatsApp Conversation Data

As a WhatsApp Business Platform technology provider, we process messages exchanged between our business clients and their customers. This may include:

  • Phone numbers of end-users who message our clients

  • Message delivery status and timestamps

We process this data on behalf of our business clients (as a data processor). The business using Appointry is the data controller and is responsible for obtaining appropriate consent from their customers.

WhatsApp Business Platform & Meta Compliance

Appointry is a technology provider built on the WhatsApp Business Platform (powered by Meta). Our use of WhatsApp APIs is governed by Meta's policies, and we are committed to full compliance with:

How we handle WhatsApp data:

  • We act as a data processor — your business clients are the data controllers
  • WhatsApp messages are processed solely to deliver the service (routing, auto-replies, order management)
  • We do not use WhatsApp conversation data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond service delivery
  • We do not sell or share WhatsApp data with third parties except as required to operate the platform
  • Message data is encrypted in transit and at rest
  • We retain message data only for the duration needed to provide the service, and delete it upon account termination or client request

Data Processing & Roles

We operate in two capacities depending on the relationship:

As Data Controller

When we collect your information directly — such as your email through our waitlist, or your account details when you sign up as a business client. We determine why and how this data is processed.

As Data Processor

When we process WhatsApp messages and end-user data on behalf of our business clients. The business client decides what data is collected and how it's used — we process it according to their instructions and our agreement.

We offer a Data Processing Agreement (DPA) to business clients who require one. Contact support@appointry.com to request a copy.

We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information.

We may share your data only in these limited circumstances:

International Data Transfers

Appointry serves businesses across the Middle East (Saudi Arabia, UAE, Egypt, Jordan, Bahrain). Your data may be processed and stored on servers located outside your country of residence, including in the United States or European Union, where our infrastructure providers operate. When transferring data across borders, we ensure appropriate safeguards are in place, including standard contractual clauses and compliance with local data protection regulations such as Saudi Arabia's PDPL and the UAE's data protection framework.

Data Retention

  • Waitlist data: Retained until you ask us to remove it or until it is no longer needed.
  • Business client data: Retained for the duration of the client relationship, plus any period required by law.
  • WhatsApp message data: Retained only as long as needed to provide the service. Deleted upon account termination or client request.
  • Analytics data: Aggregated and anonymized data may be retained indefinitely for product improvement.
